It had already been a red-letter day, what with my sweet Eliza’s official graduation from Clemson University. Still when we got home from the trip to Greenville, where the ceremony took place and where we left our girl for a fun night of celebration with her besties, Tim poured us each a frosty-mug beer and suggested we sit for a minute, down by the lake.
And so we did.
It was the perfect slow slide out of an emotional day, one filled with great joy, immense pride and the reminder that life moves on so quickly.
As Gretchen Rubin says:
The days are long, but the years are short.
