Day 8: Icing on the Cake

Aug 8, 2015 | 30 Days of Fun, thirty-days projects | 2 comments

It had already been a red-letter day, what with my sweet Eliza’s official graduation from Clemson University. Still when we got home from the trip to Greenville, where the ceremony took place and where we left our girl for a fun night of celebration with her besties, Tim poured us each a frosty-mug beer and suggested we sit for a minute, down by the lake.

And so we did.

It was the perfect slow slide out of an emotional day, one filled with great joy, immense pride and the reminder that life moves on so quickly.

As Gretchen Rubin says:

The days are long, but the years are short.

It’s my hope this little spot on the internet will be for you a place of quiet and reflection, a source for inspiration, and a reminder there’s beauty all around—we simply need to keep our hearts open to see it.
